Kloof Street Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2014

Swartland, Coastal Region, South AfricaKloof Street is a second label from Mullineux Wines, a tightly focused premium family winery in the Swartland. For this label, 30-35 year old chenin blanc from across the Swartland is sourced, picked early, with no added enzymes or yeast and low sulfur and then into a split of stainless steel and old wood. The result is a streamline and lean white expressing cream, wild flowers, lemon pith and a sheen of fine lees. Nimble acidity and fine stony minerality flow to a juicy finish. Quietly confident and authentic, this is a well priced example of Swartland chenin to seek out and drink liberally.Tasted: 30 October 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
