Intersection Alluvia Merlot 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of two interesting merlots that exploit the complex mix of soils at Intersection Winery along Road 8 in Oliver. Alluvia is a single block merlot farmed and harvested using sustainable methods. Its aged in both French and American oak for twelve months and bottled unfiltered. In this case the vines, clone 181, are grown over deep rock and silt dropped via landslides along the edge of one of the Golden Mile Bench alluvial fans. This is very pure, stony mineral style merlot with bright peppery red fruit and perfect acidity. Tannins are present but in check. Cellar three more years for optimum expression.Tasted: 08 October 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
