Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCabernet sauvignon, malbec, petit verdot, syrah, cabernet franc and merlot come together in this full bodied, brooding red, one of Sandhill's Small Lots (20 barrels of this wine). Ripe cassis, twine, leather, black cherry and compote spices on the nose carry through to the smooth, supple palate. Here, 24 months in new American oak shows evidently with vanilla, sweet wood and spiced berries come into play, propping up the heady fruit. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCoffee, chocolate, smoky vanilla, black pepper, black berry jam, tobacco leaf, black olive, cranberry, savoury, licorice aromas. Round, dry, slightly tart palate with light tannins. Smoky, dark chocolate, vanilla, cassis, black cherry, resin, licorice, poultry spice and tapenade flavours.
