Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThe Codornui Classico has a tighter style with more citrus and fewer creamy notes compared to Pere Ventura. Both wines are solid efforts and, better yet, offer value for money. The Codornui pairs well with seafood such as oysters or calamari. Its nose primarily features lemon and some florals. The palate is long and subtle with light, yeasty notes. The mousse is fine and persistent, and the finish is clean with 11 g/L of sugar balanced by acidity. Super value.Tasted: 12 April 2025Tasted by: Prices:
Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThis has a rather simple nose of lemon, mushroom, and white flowers with a subtle toasty autolytic character in the background. Medium-bodied, the mousse is fine and fairly creamy with the 11 g/L dosage leading to an off-dry finish against the moderate acidity. A fine, everyday sparkling wine at a fair price.Tasted: 11 January 2020Tasted by: Prices:
Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainYou don’t get a lot of sparkling wine for $15 but when it's fresh and clean and has the scent of fruit you must consider it a bargain, especially if you are putting it in orange juice or other drinks. Citrus, nutty, green apple, ginger flavours with honey and toasted almonds adding some weight to the finish. Fair value in a simpler style.Tasted: 01 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:
