Bartier Bros. Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCool September weather lengthened the hangtime after a warm summer and brighten the white wines in 2013. The nose is pleasantly complex with notes of toasted, sanded wood, cream and apples. The attack is full bodied and fresh, the palate creamy - 50 percent of this whole cluster press juice spends one-year-old American thin stave barrels for fermentation. After 5 months sur lie, the wine was reunited with its stainless steel stored other half. The primary green apple, savoury, lemon curd punctuates the clove and vanilla spiced wood notes but a persistent orchard fruit brightness shines through to the stony, chalky finish. A big wine, with finesse ideal for pairing with cream sauced pastas or lobster. The fruit comes off the Cerqueira Vineyard on the Black Sage Gravel Bar.Tasted: 01 January 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
