Monte Creek Ranch Riesling 2014
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis wine was a favourite among some of the judges at The Nationals in Niagara Falls this year. From a pioneering wine region in the Thompson Valley, ten minutes outside of Kamloops. The nose is a stand-offish mix of yellow fruits and guava with some nectarine skin notes. There is surprising intensity on its weighty palate with more yellow fruits, kiwi and apple flavours and some nutty mineral notes in the back end. Some bitter pear skin trails on the finish. An impressive start for this label and we hope it tracks down this path moving forward. Good value.Tasted: 04 August 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:BC | $15.99 | 375ml | winery direct, private and VQA wine shops |
