Gérard Bertrand Terroir Languedoc 2011
Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThe Terroir range promotes the appellations of the South of France in their diversity. Here, the hot, windswept semi-arid Mediterranean climate of Languedoc is expressed through syrah and grenache. Cracked currants, cherry, cassis, fine spice fill the nose. Dense cassis and clove lead the generous, fruity palate - one upped by syrah undergoing partial carbonic fermentation. Grippy, sandpaper textured tannins finish with iron stoniness. Acidity is brisk throughout, making for a refreshing if rustic pour alongside herbed pork tenderloin or leg of lamb.Tasted: 27 August 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:QC | $18.00 | 750ml | SAQ |
