Tautavel, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Roussillon, Sud de France, FranceTautavel is a village in the warmer, spoon-shaped, sunshine-catching Roussillon valley. Pebbly, limestone-rich terraces and south-east facing hillsides house the grenache/syrah/carignan in this blend. Lovely perfumed, savoury cassis and anise pervades this confident, concentrated wine. Dense and dark perfumed ripe fruits, violets, figs, cassis rest on fine, slightly sticky tannins, trailing off with sweet spices and lavender. Acidity throughout carries the weight nimbly. Amazing value for quality here, and a terrific pour for your lamb shank.Tasted: 27 August 2015Tasted by: Prices:
