Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2011

Tuscany, ItalyVilla Antinori is a 90/10 mix of sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon/merlot from a solid, if warm vintage. Some 60 percent of the wine is age in oak casks and the rest in small, used French and Hungarian oak barrels. The nose intense mixing of red fruits and darker blueberry notes mixed with cloves. The palate is modern; clean fresh vibrant with soft fruit, perfect tannins and classy oak. The 2011 Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva was bottled at the new Antinori Chianti Classico cellars at Bargino near Florence. The first vintage was the 1928 and, up until the year 2000, it represented, over time, the Antinori concept of a Chianti Classico Riserva. In 2010, the Villa Rosso Chianti Classico Riserva returned once again to the years of its youth and, in 2011, to its home.Tasted: 16 July 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
