Tuscany, ItalyLight spice, cherry and raspberry complete the nose of Ruffino's entry-level Chianti - a consistent buy year after year. Dusty cherry, a touch of meat and a bit of old wood must on the nose. Cherry and tobacco rule the medium palate and though tannins are a touch on the stemmy side, there's a redeeming perfumed strawberry note to the end, clipped as it is.
