Rio Negro, Patagonia, ArgentinaThe Marcelo Miras 2012 Malbec from Ing. Huergo, General Roca, Río Negro was planted in 1979, made in the traditional style and aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels. A typical north Patagonian desert climate brings warm days and cool nights at 39º 08´ S. Here you can get big colour and structure (think skins) so you must pay attention to prevent the wine from being to rustic. The growing season can be shorter much like the south Okanagan Valley.
