CedarCreek Platinum Desert Ridge Meritage 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Platinum range is only released in highest quality years, and 2012 is the first since 2009. Desert Ridge, an Osoyoos single vineyard Meritage, is a first release for the winery. Tobacco, dusty cassis, subtle violets and gravels lead to a textured, full bodied palate. Plush cassis, black plum, red cherry and raspberry swirl marks the palate, propped up with firm, stony structure, grainy tannins and lifted acidity. The finish is filled with more floral, stone and bitter black cherry fruit with a push of freshness and acidity. This needs another five to seven years in the bottle but you can enjoy it now with roast beef or skirt steak.Tasted: 29 July 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
