Symphony 100% Saanich Grown Pinot Gris (Barrel Ferment) 2014

Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThis Saanich pinot gris pours a delicate apricot hue in the glass, the result of skin contact with colour-packed gris grapes prior to pressing. This wine has seen time in stainless and partial neutral French oak, providing a pillow of peachiness to this otherwise crisp white. Subtle pear skin, stone and faint white peach aromas. The juicy palate shares the same notes, along with gentle lees, bitter melon and spicy white grapefruit pith. Nice herbal interest and marine freshness, ideal for pairing with seared scallops or grilled chicken thighs. Highly promising for the future (though would like to see a labelling upgrade).Tasted: 04 June 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
