Chateau Miraval Coteaux Varois en Provence Blanc 2013

Côtes de Provence, Provence, Sud de France, FranceA low yield vintage has yielded a very fine white wine with excellent lively minerality and freshness. Chateau Miraval is essentially sited in private valley on the Commune of Correns to the north of Brignoles. It covers 2 appellations: Coteaux Varois en Provence (to the northwest) and Cotes de Provence (to the east of the estate). The vines sit over cool clay and limestone soils the fruit is hand- picked, sorted and pressed gently into stainless steel tanks (90%) and oak barrels (10%) the latter stirred. The blend is grenache blanc and rolle (vermentino) and it’s both fresh and floral with bits of guava and almonds. A rare white wine for our market but perfect for halibut. Owned by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt the wine is made by the Famille Perrin of Châteauneuf-du-Pape fame.Tasted: 08 June 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
