Burlotto Acclivi Barolo 2009

Barolo, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyTraditional and elegant, with unmistakable truffles, candied maraschino cherry notes mixed with fragrant pomegranate and potent rose blooms all with a burnished bergamot note hinting underneath through to the finish. Acclivi is a blend of grapes from several crus owned by the winery. Full-bodied, with fine, firm tannins, worn gently. Warm spices, tobacco, leather, dried cherry and ripe rainier cherry and perfumed strawberries give heft, lifted with nimble acidity and ending with black tea bitterness and fine saltiness on finish. Fairly harmonious and approachable now, even though still showing young. You could comfortably age this for 7-plus years, or pour alongside mushroomed risotto or caramelized roasted root vegetables.Tasted: 01 June 2015Tasted by: Prices:
