Château Léoville-Barton 2010
St. Julien, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceLéoville-Barton has always been a value buy but in the last decade the jump in quality at the Chateau is marked. The 2010 mix is 73/17/10 cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc all aged in 60 percent new oak. The wine is still tightly wound five years out showing more savoury notes and monster tannins over tarry red fruits. The finish is long and tight with coffee and licorice dominating. This is a thirty year wine for sure and should be scintillating in its third decade.
