Chateau Léoville Las Cases 2010
St. Julien, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceAt first, this is somewhat closed and hard, a reflection of its youth and dominance of cabernet sauvignon. With some time, smoked stone, black cherry bitterness emerge. Heady cassis, wild blackberry, charcoal and tobacco are carried by dense, though fine grained tannins. Lovely structure, and undeniable power, keyed with a savoury edge. Needs a lot of time to fully emerge - ten years plus.
