Alvear Medium Dry NV

Montilla-Moriles, SpainConsistency is a good thing and Alvear has little problem with this product over the years. Born of the Solera system this D.O. Montilla-Moriles is made with 100 percent pedro Ximénez in a medium dry style that combines the development of a Fino, aged under a blanket of Flor and the oxidative aging of an Oloroso. It is slightly sweetened and stays in a Solera system of 500L old American oak casks for more than 6 years.Expect a nutty, figgy, cedar nose flecked with dried herb. The attack is full and slightly sweet as it spills across the palate with just the right amount of acidity. Walnuts, orange peel, soy and tobacco flavours give it a complex flavour with fine intensity. Great with soup or cheeses. Super value, again.Tasted: 05 April 2015Tasted by: Prices:
