Wild Goose Botrytis Affected Riesling 2013
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThere have only been three years at Wild Goose when conditions have permitted the growth of noble rot or botrytis cinerea. It is a desert environment after all. In 2013, the noble rot returned and the infected bunches of grapes shriveled up concentrating the sugar. In this case it left a spectacular honeyed, tangerine fruit wine flecked with bits of ginger and stony minerality. Even more impressive is the elegant, complex, almost Mosel-like style of this wine. Bravo, this will live for a decade.Tasted: 09 March 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $40.00 | 375ml | winery direct and private wine shops |
