Mosel, GermanyThis wine continues to impress even if few in the world know what ‘Halbtrocken’ wine is. If you guessed half dry good for you, but many will find it drier than most of the so-called dry wines you normally drink. By law it can’t exceed 18 g/L of residual sugar but the acidity is so bright you simply do not notice and sweetness. Like most editions we have tried it is terrific. The nose is a salty, mineral stony affair with hints of dried herbs. The attack is barely sweet with intense citrus, green apple even slightly bitter flavours in the finish.
