Sicily, ItalyYou can taste the warmth of the Sicilian sun in this ripe, sun-drenched red, a chewy blend of nerello mascalese and nero d'avola grapes. Naturally raisinated fruit was employed, amping up the intensity. Baked plums, dried currants, prunes, cherry compote notes before a rich palate of chocolate covered cherries, dried fig, cherry leather, port-soaked citrus, rasped clove, nutmeg and pepper. Tannins are long and sticky on the finish. This is not a shy wine, and though acidity is moderate, the potent, party fruit dominates.
