CedarCreek Shiraz Cabernet 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis started out as a cellar trial, an experiment to blend the shiraz (52 percent) and cabernet sauvignon (29 percent) grapes grown as neighbours in their Osoyoos vineyards. Cabernet franc, merlot and malbec flush out the rest of this medium bodied, spicy and structured red. Medicinal black cherry, raspberry and cranberry compote notes stretch across wood hewn, ragged tannins, finishing with a cedar stave dryness. Nice potency of fruit here, but stymied by the potency of the wood.Tasted: 21 March 2015Tasted by: Prices:
