Chinon, Touraine, Loire, FranceMatthieu and his father Bernard Baudry run this small, family operated winery and tend the most treasured vineyards in Chinon, where cabernet franc finds pure expressiveness. Here fifty+ year-old vines are fermented in concrete with wild yeast and aged in neutral barrels, yielding alluring (and charmingly funky and bretty) notes of sand, cassis, cherry, earth and pencil lead.
