Rustic Roots Mulberry Pear 2012
British Columbia, CanadaThis Amarone/port style wine is made from farm grown organic mulberries and Bartlett pears. The Mulberries are picked and dried and then added to neutral grain alcohol to fortifying the blend to 18 percent alcohol before it is aged 18 months in old French oak barrels. Look for a spicy, peppery, menthol, leafy nose with cola, prune and dried pear aromas. Fresh, elegant, juicy, sweet palate with cola, peppery, minty, raspberry and medium fruity note of cooked pear and prune flavours.
