It is certainly the case with Bila-Haut Blanc grown on stony terraces with black and brown schist, gneiss, limestone and chalk in the south of France. Expect a seamless mix of grenache blanc, grenache gris and macabeu that spills onto the palate with citrus, quince and pear notes marked with mineral, apricot dusted in garrigue. It hard not to like the juicy, limey flavoured finished either.
