Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaThis is a charming, lithe and fresh blend of grenache, mataro, cinsault, shiraz and carignan, belying its 14.5 percent alcohol. Vines sourced from vineyards averaging 70 years of age, low yielding and hand tended. Perfumed pink flowers, talcum powder, savoury wild herbs and wild strawberry aromatics. The palate is finessed, fine grained and buoyant with delicate wild strawberry, fragrant raspberry, pomegranate and pure cherry core. Some crunchy rockiness welcome on the finish, where a touch of heat creeps in. Crack and pour with pork chops or salmon.
