Haywire Pinot Gris Raised in Concrete White Label 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIt takes three winemakers to make all the pinot gris coming out of Summerland's Haywire Winery these days although it the latest 'white label' raised in concrete gris is grown at Oliver's Secrest vineyard. Antonini, Dumayne and the now departed Bartier all had a hand in this bottle that is quite delicious. In fact the wine is fermented in stainless steel that could change in the years ahead before spending six months in concrete where the process builds creaminess, mouthfeel and texture and some believe it better expresses its terroir better. Expect a dry, juicy style here with a mix of citrus, guava and south Okanagan dried herbs flavour. Now one of several pinot gris made at Haywire so pay attention to the labels when you are making your selection.Tasted: 01 January 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
