BK Wines Skin & Bones White 2013

Adelaide, South Australia, AustraliaThis is Adelaide Hills innovation influenced by Jura. Savagnin (winery initially thought it was albarino) and chardonnay come together in this textured, intensely aromatic and angular wine. Savagnin spends 25 days on the skins before being racked into neutral French puncheons for a year, after which it is blended with the stainless steel chardonnay. The wild, piercing herbaceouness of savagnin is tempered with the creamy chardonnay, resulting in a creamy, textured sipper with apple skin, stone, honey, light nuts and dried orange peel notes, finishing with an earthy hoppiness. Nervous energy here resulting in an angular and characterful wine. Tasted: 22 January 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
