Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalFounded in 1670, Warre's lays claim to being the first British Port company established in Portugal. Their wines have been shipped continuously since the 1750s. The name Warrior was branded on the casks of Warre's Finest Reserve Ports since the beginning. The wines come from Warre's qantas in the Pinhao and Rio Torto valleys, selected by winemaker Peter Symingon for their fruit richness. This certainly has that, with potent cherry, blackberry, fig paste, caramelized brown sugar and waves of raspberry to a lightly peppery finish. This has more charming red fruit than many of its contemporaries in the class; a welcome change. This youthful red would make a great match for rum raisin pie or mince tarts.Tasted: 13 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalClosing in on 265 years of production you could say this brand has staying power. From the beginning it has been aged in seasoned oak casks for 4 to 5 years prior to bottling. Its purple colour is opaque previewing a plummy almost Christmas cake flavoured port with a hint of chocolate in the finish. Like all wood ports no decanting is necessary. If you want to impress your guests offer them a glass of what is the oldest mark of Port having been shipped continuously since the 1750s.Tasted: 13 December 2014Tasted by: Prices:
