Vinedos Altamira Valley Tres Finca 2011
Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaA new listing worth checking out. The fruit is a mix of varieties and vineyards from the famed Vista Flores sub-section of the Uco Valley, a major sub-region of the Mendoza Valley. The mix is 39/24/23/8 cabernet sauvignon, malbec, syrah, petit verdot and cabernet franc. Look for a juicy full-bodied red but on the red fruit not black fruit side with notes of black cherries and raspberry with classic, savoury Uco 'jarilla' (native scrub/dried herbs). The palate is similar with spice, juicy, soft, savoury red fruits with soft pliant tannins in what was a cool year. A perfect match for turkey or beef. Good value and a signal of what Mendoza should be doing in this market. Load up.Tasted: 29 December 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $23.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
