Hunter, New South Wales, AustraliaThe Lost Block range came to be when an impending storm forced the vineyard crew to abandon a prized block of Hunter semillon to pick less storm hardy grapes. When the 'lost' block, picked days later, became finished wine it showed so well that it was given a label of its own. Over the years, the range has expanded to include wines from across Oz, each crafted in an easy and approachable style. This, from select Hunter Valley vineyards, opens with fragrant musk melon, white peach and almond. The palate is losing sheen - showing white grapefruit, white peach, green apple and bitter herbs before a slightly sour, cleansing lemon finish. Acidity moderate - drink now with white fish.
