California, United StatesBatch 88 is a soft, sweet and round and eminently easy-drinking port-like wine. The style according to owner Andrew Quady lies somewhere between a ruby (fruity) and a tawny (aged) Portuguese port. Look for sweet raisins and chocolate to dominate. You can sip this solo by the fire with a bowl full of nuts or try it with your favourite fruitcake. Batch 88 is mostly made with tinta roriz grapes. Several different vintages aged an average of five years are used in the blend.
