Nugan Alfredo Second Pass Shiraz 2012
South Eastern Australia, AustraliaThe Down Under version of ripasso "the Second Pass" re-fermented over the skins or pomace of the Nugan Alfredo Dried Grapes Shiraz before spending a year in US and American oak. The result is a surprisingly appealing shiraz (does Oz shiraz need more concentration) with bright black cherry fruit and clean, fresh, cracked pepper and some bitter dark chocolate. It's a touch acidic and a bit spirity (alcoholic) but with the right dish like barbecue ribs, it would be just fine.Tasted: 23 December 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:ON | $16.00 | 750ml | LCBO |
