Champagne Lanson Extra Age Brut Blanc de Blancs NV
Champagne, FranceLanson marked its 250 years making champagne by releasing a new cuvée - 'Extra Aged'. If you like mature champagne this is it. It’s 100 percent chardonnay and 100 percent Grand Cru fruit from a trio of vintages: 2003, 2004 and 2005. The bottle can rest for six, seven or eight years on lees prior to release. No malolactic fermentations turns what could be a rich, almost fat style into a fresh one, with citrus, mineral, chalk and honey aromatics followed by a creamy pear, brioche, crushed hazelnut palate, bright with impressive mineral salinity. Rich enough and close enough to a still chardonnay to take on bigger dishes at dinner including roasted birds. Drink through 2020.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:

Champagne Lanson Extra Age Brut Blanc de Blancs NV
Champagne, FranceFrom one of the oldest Champagne houses (dating to 1760) and from a blend of 3 vintages - 2000, 2002, 2004. The bottle rests for 5 years prior to release. Crisp and shearing lemon, with mineral, chalk and honey aromatics leading to a racy, full bodied palate with creamy pear, pastry, lemon sherbet, green apple, almond paste and mineral salinity. No MLF keeps acidity shining, a counterpart to the maturity from extra age. Rich enough to take on bigger dishes like scallops in lemon cream sauce or roasted pheasant.Tasted: 11 December 2014Tasted by: Prices:
