Blue Mountain Gold Label Brut NV

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Blue Mountain Gold Label Brut continues to set the benchmark for Canadian sparkling wine, consistently outperforming wines double its price. Based on the 2019 vintage, this bottling shows exceptional complexity, with crystalline lemon, yellow apple, and red berry fruit framed by generous brioche notes alongside toasted spice and hazelnut. There's a depth here that belies its youthfulness and 24 months on lees, and it'll be fascinating to see how this evolves. There's no need to wait, but we have a hunch this will reward careful cellaring over the next 3-4 years. The dosage is consistent with previous vintages (8 g/L in a traditional Brut style). Still, this vintage feels more forward – at least to this palate – making it well-suited to pair with canapés and hors d'oeuvres, especially as we head into the holiday season.Tasted: 28 November 2023Tasted by: Prices:
