Blue Mountain Gold Label Brut NV

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaReliable can be a wishy-washy descriptor for still wine, but for sparkling wine I think it’s just fine, especially if the bottle in question is the Blue Mountain Gold Label Brut. The latest release was bottled in 2015 and disgorged in March 2018. It’s all Okanagan Falls estate fruit - 50/45.5/4.5 - pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot gris - that the next label may bear the more descriptive Okanagan Falls sub-GI just awarded this region. After two years on its lees the wine is disgorged, and then aged another six to nine months in bottle. Look for a bright lemon, green apple nose with chalky undertones. The palate is similar with a drying finish. Perfect with steamed clams and butter.Tasted: 31 July 2018Tasted by: Prices:
