Opawa Pinot Noir 2012

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandOpawa translates as "smoky river", and while there's a hint of light smoked branch in this Marlborough pinot noir, it's not - thankfully - a river's worth. Ripe strawberry jam, sweet raspberry, red currants and herbal twine dominate this juicy, simple and lightly raspy red. A bit of heat on the punchy finish leads me to think this would partner with grilled pork ribs or mushroom ragĂș.Tasted: 25 November 2014Tasted by: Prices:
