California, United StatesNine months in French and American oak barrels, only 11 percent new are at the heart of this soft-ish, sixty-one percent merlot, with 15 percent syrah, 10 per cent malbec and three percent cabernet sauvignon and three percent carignane from Sonoma County, Mendocino County and Napa County. The attack is soft and silky with chocolate, raspberry and spicy black cherry fruit that finishes sweet and smooth. Too sweet for us but currently what many young wine drinkers are demanding.
