Michel Gassier Nostre Païs Costières de Nîmes Blanc 2012
Costières de Nîmes, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThe Nostre Pais Blanc is a fresh and racy mix of grenache, roussanne, viognier and bourboulenc (53/38/6/3) made with old vines grown over stony red clay soils. The wine goes through partial malolactic fermentation and spends six months on its lees. The nose is a mix of floral, citrus notes with a stone minerality undercurrent. The palate is surprisingly weighty with length and texture. The finish is mouth-filling with fine acidity yellow fruits/grapefruit and citrus flavours with more flinty mineral notes. Delicious now but no rush to drink. Would be excellent with shellfish or halibut.Tasted: 26 October 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $27.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Altus Wines |
