Greywacke Pinot Gris 2013
Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandComplex, rich Alsatian-style pinot gris. Complexities and heft come from the fruit being picked quite ripe - between 24-26 brix, and with hints of botrytis. Some 75 percent is wild yeast; 100 percent whole bunch pressed and then into barrel for 5 months on the lees. Beauty cream richness, honey, apricot, herbal wild meadow blossoms, wild roses, full and perfumed with textured stone fruit and lingering bitter-kissed spices on the long finish. Expressive, impressive. Tasted: 14 October 2014Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:AB | $30.00 | 750ml | fine wine stores |
