Famille Perrin Côtes du Rhône Rouge Réserve 2012

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceIs there better value red wine in Canada at the moment than Cotes du Rhone? The Perrin bears a 'Reserve' moniker but it doesn't really need the meaningless moniker on its label. The nose is fresh and inviting with plenty of red fruit aromas laced with white pepper, licorice and garrigue notes. The palate is juicy with plummy, ripe raspberry fruit flavours more spice and dried herbs. Well balanced and capable of ageing for another five years. Perfect for grilled pork or lamb chops.Tasted: 18 October 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
