Château Palmer 2011
Margaux, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceSmoky, spicy, peppery, vanilla, black olive, briar, weedy, tobacco, light barnyard aromas. Dry, tight, somewhat astringent palate but good finesse and intensity. Cassis, cedar, tobacco leaf, peppery, rooty, animal, resin, briar flavours. Finish is warm with coffee and vanilla with some tannins that need to round out. Good finesse if a bit green but a success for the vintage, as it should be, for the price.
