Goulburn Valley, Victoria, AustraliaPetrol, eraser and faint honeysuckle line the nose and the glass of this six-year-old Marsanne, showing some of the grape's ageworthy characteristics. A light golden yellow hue, with bitter marmalade, scrubby herbs and lemon thistle carried along a light slick of oil and finishing with pear skin spicing. Fine thread of persistent acidity runs the length of this lean bodied wine to the extended finish. This is all about tension and savoury stoniness. Another 6+ years easy.Tasted: 08 August 2016Tasted by: Prices:
Goulburn Valley, Victoria, AustraliaIf you're patient this is an incredible value idiosyncratic wine. In its youth look for whiffs of lemon, white peach, light petrol, marmalade and dried herbs leading to a crisp/mineral and medium bodied oily palate of pear, honeysuckle, earth, lemon thyme, and stony spice. Its well-knit rope of herbal earthiness and floral perfume, bright acid and stone fruit is capped with a lengthy finish. The complexity builds with age offering a richer more powerful mouthfeel. This is a wine you can unscrew the cap on now with grilled poultry thighs, or alongside baked halibut or cellar for 5-10 years and beyond.Tasted: 29 August 2014Tasted by: Prices:
