Saggi 2011
Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesItaly in Washington? Not quite, but nevertheless, impressive. Saggi is a collaboration between Ambrogio Folonari and the folks at Long Shadows and the 2011 is a 43/42/15/mix of sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon and syrah. We love the savoury, delicious spicy nose with its tobacco, clove and blackberry jam notes. The palate is warm and full with peppery, blackberry/blueberry, coffee, meaty flavours flecked with orange and black olives. You can drink this now with a grilled steak or cellar it for another three to five years.Tasted: 20 July 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $70.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Mark Anthony Brands |
