Pierre Amadieu Gigondas Romane-Machotte Rouge 2011

Gigondas, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceRomane-Machotte is a classic blend of grenache and syrah fermented on the skins for some thirty days. This cuvée is aged partly in two year-old barrels and partly in oak casks, during 12 to 15 months to protect the fruit. Grown closed the forest you pick up the garrigue threads inside the red fruits and its round silky palate. A mix of plums and berries with a pleasant peppery undertone. Grilled beef with vegetables is the match. Drink now or cellar through 2020 for even better results.Tasted: 08 June 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
