Pierre Amadieu Gigondas Romane-Machotte Rosé 2013
Gigondas, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThe pale pink colour stems from a mix of mix grenache, syrah and cinsault all grown on rocky hillsides over clay-limestone soils. The nose is highly expressive with fresh crushed raspberries and peach notes. The grapes are 50/50 grenache and syrah, direct pressed and bled off a few short hours after. The mouth is round and smooth with lively cherry flavours and freshness throughout. A revelation; Gigondas in a Provencal cloak. Would be fun with salmon or shellfish and equally at home with Thai or Indian dishes.Tasted: 08 June 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:CDN | $20.00 | 750ml | estimated retail |
