Vacqueyras, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThe blend is 80/20 grenache/syrah grown on calcium rich soils in a warm environment in the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail Mountains. A small portion of the syrah is aged in new wood the rest in older oak that is aged 12 months before bottling. The style is spicy and rich with soft red fruit flavours, liquorice with a hint of toasted, garam masala. Plenty of finesse and length thanks to well-managed tannins.
