Domaine de Longue Toque Gigondas 2012

Gigondas, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceDomaine de Longue Toque was founded in 1918 and takes its name from the long lines of trees (toque in local Provencal language) used in earlier times to identify property lines. The vines at Toque cover 4 of the 5 recognized appellation terroirs at 200 to 400 metres and they span three geological eras. The colour is deep and impressive followed by a melange of red fruit, spice and minerals. It's the balance and complexity that really impresses here letting the true spicy, fruity nature of Gigondas shine through. The grenache is aged in tank; the syrah in one year old wood.Tasted: 15 June 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
