Black Hills Nota Bene 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2012 Nota Bene blend is 57/35/8 merlot/cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc. It is the first time in more than a decade merlot has taken the lead in the blend. It explains the softer textures and rounder mouthfeel. The attack is juicy with smoky, cran-cherry, spicy dill dried herb aromas, fine grained tannins with a bit of heat in the back end. This wine is but a pup and underneath it remains firm and dry with those familiar, youthful, roasted tomato and graphite/resin notes. Give this five years to pull it all together. The wine is aged in an 80/20 mix of French and American oak. Sold out online, as usual.Tasted: 08 June 2014Tasted by: Prices:
