Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesStoneCap wines are all estate-grown on the Goose Ridge Vineyard in the Columbia Valley in view of Red Mountain. The nose is meaty, to the point of gamey perhaps reflecting the dash of mourvèdre in the blend, the attack is round and supple reflecting its other blender merlot. Look for fruity mid-palate with a blueberry and plum flavours with flecked with a smoky, tobacco coffee and some acidity pushing through the back end. Again grilled meats are the best match or serve with mature, hard cheeses.
